STAFF LOUNGE PROJECT
Right now we are raising money to build a staff lounge. For
the past few summers, the staff have not had an adequate place to gather
socially. The alumni understand the importance for staff members to have
a space where they can learn and interact with peers who are like and unlike
themselves. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to raise money
for this project.
At the reunion in October, The Alumni Projects Committee was formed to begin
the Staff Lounge Project. Led by John Ringwald, and consisting of Larry
Hutchins, Eric Benner, Eliza Jones, and Mary Torpey, the Committee wrote
a proposal which was signed by reunion attendees who believe in this project.
Alumni donated cash and checks, and wrote pledges towards the lounge construction.
This proposal was accepted by Rufus Miller, Executive Director of Camps
and Conferences and the plan is to begin construction Spring 2007! An excerpt
of the proposal is included below.
